Description
Build a thriving planted aquarium from the bottom up with Dennerle Plants Substrate. This is a classic long-term nutrient concentrate designed to be used as the bottom layer of your tank.
How it Works
Dennerle Substrate acts as a "nutrient battery" for your plant roots. It contains natural clay minerals and peat that regulate the nutrient balance—releasing nutrients when needed and absorbing them when there is a surplus.
Key Benefits
-
Nutrient Depot: Provides a balanced supply of essential nutrients for healthy, vital plants.
-
Strong Roots: Encourages deep rooting and robust growth.
-
Intelligent Regulation: Buffers nutrients to prevent spikes and deficiencies.
-
Natural Ingredients: Safe for fish, shrimp, and snails.
Usage Instructions (Important)
-
Layering: Spread a layer of Dennerle Substrate (approx. 1 cm thick) on the bottom of the empty aquarium.
-
Capping: Cover completely with a top layer of aquarium gravel or soil (approx. 4-5 cm thick).
-
Note: Do not mix the layers. The gravel cap prevents nutrients from releasing too quickly into the water column.
Calculation Guide: How much do I need?
Formula: (Length cm x Width cm x Layer Height cm) / 1000 = Liters needed.
Example: For a 60x30cm tank with a 1cm layer:
60 x 30 x 1 / 1000 = 1.8 Liters (You would need a 2L bag).
Pro Tip: If moving plants later, pull them out slowly and cut roots just above the substrate to avoid stirring up the bottom layer and clouding the water.
