Description
Hemianthus micranthemoides, commonly known as "Pearlweed," is a graceful stem plant from North America. With its small, arched, light-green leaves, it closely resembles a miniature version of Egeria. It is an incredibly versatile plant for the aquascape; under intensive light, it develops a characteristic trailing growth habit, making it suitable as a foreground carpet. Under moderate light, it grows more upright, forming dense, bushy groups perfect for the midground or background of Nano tanks.
To maintain its compact and fresh appearance, regular trimming is recommended. This plant is a fast grower and adaptable, but it truly shines when provided with good lighting and CO2, which prevent it from becoming "leggy."
