Description
Eleocharis pusilla 'Mini' (1-2-Grow!)
Aquarium plant from tissue culture in a closed cup. Eleocharis pusilla (formerly acicularis 'mini') has even lower growth than the common Eleocharis parvula and was given to Tropica by Thomas Barr from the US. Plant the mini-version in small portions covering a larger area. In a short time, a dense carpet will be obtained. Needs light to perform optimally, however, it is one of the most secure species for creating a carpet—and requires a minimum of maintenance since the leaves stay short (3–5 cm). Suitable for nano-aquariums.

Success with your aquarium depends largely on the proper plant choice. In a 1•2•Grow! cup, you buy a myriad of plants which can be divided into small portions and cover a larger area. Plants are compact from the start so you will experience a dense and beautiful growth, if you give them the right fertiliser and CO₂ from the start! The range is perfect for small and medium-sized aquariums, and your patience will be rewarded.

Tips for Success & Care
-
Preparation & Planting: Remove the plant carefully from the tissue culture cup, rinse the liquid growth gel thoroughly under tap water, and split into 6–8 small portions using sharp scissors. Plant portions evenly into the substrate using aquascaping tweezers.
-
Optimal Growth: Provide medium lighting, substrate fertilization, and steady CO₂ injection to encourage rapid lateral runner development while keeping the growth ultra-short.
-
Low Maintenance: Because it remains naturally compact (3–5 cm), it requires far less trimming than standard hairgrass varieties. Avoid over-trimming to prevent shock.
